Apple CEO Tim Cook has called Uber CEO Travis Kalanick into the California HQ for a grilling.
It has emerged that Uber, the worldwide Taxi app, has got itself into more bother after it was revealed that the company has been using Touch ID to be able to identify its users.
Apple prohibits any app available on the App Store that can personally identify a customer but managed to get round it by implementing code into the app that not even Apple HQ noticed.
The reason Uber went underground was it says to “prevent fraudsters from loading stolen credit card information onto the app” so that bills are not run up while taking expensive rides. Not a good enough reason for Tim who is quoted as saying “I’ve heard you’ve been breaking some of our rules” and threatened to pull the Uber app from the App Store.
